Exporting to a Palm Pilot

You should have already installed your Palm software according to the instructions that came with your PDA.  If you have not already installed the Palm software and Palm Database program, you may not be able to complete the export.  Please consult the documentation that came with your PDA for additional help.

The “To Palm Pilot” export option gives you the ability to send your profile information to a Palm Pilot or other Palm Operating System PDA (like Handspring Visor or Sony CLIE).  The Palm export feature makes your profile databases portable so you can take them with you when you are working in the field. 
 

Before you run your first Palm export, the Palm Database program must be installed on your Palm Pilot (many Palms will already have it installed). The database program provides the software your Palm pilot needs to view, search, and sort data on your Palm Pilot.  The Palm Database program can be downloaded from the Help and Resources->Download Software screen in your HomeRentals.net Control Panel.  Click the software link (DB.prc) to begin the download process. 
 

When your browser’s download dialog box opens, click “Open” to download the DB.prc file to your computer.  After you have downloaded the file, Palm Desktop software’s Install Tool dialog box will display and the DB program will be listed as queued for installation.  The next time you HotSync your Palm Pilot, the DB program will be installed on it.  You must perform a HotSync before you export your listings data to your Palm Pilot.

After the DB program has been installed, you can begin the Palm Export process.
