Only Manager Platinum package holders will be able to use the Online Applications feature - your HomeRentals.net package must include both the RP Listings and the RP Management System. Before proceeding, refer to the “Appendix I: Online Applications” section of this guide for more information about configuring Online Applications. You must complete the configuration process before you begin using this feature. Do not proceed until all of the configuration steps have been completed! A prospective tenant can complete an online application (Figures 35a and 35b) through your company website, through HomeRentals.net, or through some of the HomeRentals.net partner websites (Configuration ->RP Parameters->Listing Partner Websites). You may direct prospective tenants to your online applications when they call or stop by your office. If you have a high traffic office, you could set up a browsing kiosk in your office so prospective tenants can use it to review listings and apply for a rental.
After a tenant submits an application online, it is stored in your HomeRentals.net Control Panel as an “unpaid” application. If you have enabled the “Online Apps Notification” feature from Configuration->System Parameters->System Preferences, then you will receive an application notification email at this point, even though the tenant has not paid their application costs. If, for some reason, the tenant is not able to complete the online payment process, the notification email allows you to follow up with the tenant and make alternate payment arrangements with them so you can fully process their application.
After the tenant completes the payment process, you will receive an email notification and the application will be converted to a “paid” application.
If you do not charge an application fee, you can configure the system for "Free Applications."
